I have been in the car business most of my life. I have worked on cars as well as written about them. The auto industry will come back, however as a flate rate techncian, things can get tough at times. I am luckily however, still bringing home at least a decent pay check.

I have worked on both sides of the fence, mening dealer and aftermarket. The dealer offers factory training, and the comfort of working on the same product line day in and day out.

The aftermarket offers an opprtunity to get a more broad perspective on servicing and repair of multiline vehicles.

Both have their pros and cons, but the aftermarket I feel needs to do a better job in tech training as far as new technologies go.

All and all, my technician career as been good to me, and I plan on sticking around for awhile. I have been into cars ever since I was kid, I still have that passion for the automobile.
